A quick tour of the various jobs within the department.

#1. Street Sweeper.
This is entry level and most basic job. While covering a street location (or land) you also do trash rounds and utility work which is a fancy name for cleaning detail such as scrubbing out cans. Mmmm, fun!

#2. Bussing.
This job is currently obsolete as far as I know. It was handed over to Foods during the late 90s. The custodian wears the costume that fits the theme of the fast food restaurant and busses tables as well as emptying trash cans. Also basic stuff.

#3. Restrooms.
This job is broken up into areas in which males and females clean and stock four to five restrooms in their assigned area in each round. Each round is logged on a sheet. Also basic stuff and taught in the first week of training.

#4. Tunnels.
Often mistakened for being a "cushy" job, because you ride around in a battery powered vehicle called a Pargo. Custodians here keep the cast member areas clean like breakrooms, restrooms, and tunnel areas. Tunnel crew also handle odd jobs like cleaning up after maintenance projects. They also provide back-up for when it gets too busy in the guest area of the park. You are required to know how to work with packers which collect trash.

#5. Recycling.
This job is like tunnels, except that you police aluminum can recycling containers in the cast member areas. You also work cardboard bailers used by Foods and Mechandise.

#6. Road Crew.
Road crew is incharge of keeping the roads that surround the Magic Kingdom free of debris. This requires driving a company small size pickup truck and using pickers. You also aid in cleaning up after auto accidents.

#7. BackAreas.
Similar to Roads with the exception of back breaking work. That is why you are required to have a physical and a special license to operate larger trucks on property. BackAreas clears outside areas of leftover building materials and keeps backlots free of debris. They also hose down outdoor packer slabs that collect trash. Odd jobs are also common.

#8. TSI.
Tom Sawyers Island is an attraction that is cut off from land and requires custodians to keep this free roaming area clean. You buss tables, restrooms, and pick flower beds as well as caves and fort. You must know how to swim and operate a small boat when doing this job. Custodians who do not require much supervision is picked for this job.

#9. Windows.
Window crew cleans nearly all the glass in the park before nine o'clock every morning. This includes Main Street as well as restaurants and attractions throughout the entire Magic Kingdom. A big job!

#10. Supplies.
Here, the custodian stocks restroom closets with cleaning and paper supplies as well as other cleaning equipment throughout the park. Also makes orders.

#11. TTC.
Another outpost of custodial similar to TSI, but at the entrance to the park. Ticket and Transportation Center requires custodians to clean restrooms as well as sweep the monorail stations and empty trash.
