In a long overdue appearance, Dave talks about what’s happening in his new digs, as well as why it seems to be taking so long. Oh, and be sure to spot the excuses for not writing an article every week along the way...
Okay, okay, I know this article is long overdue. In addition, you’re probably wondering why I’m not doing an answer session from my call for “questions I know the answers to” last time. In short, I just didn’t have enough questions sent in to make a whole article out of. Also, there was a little thing called moving in that we are still doing.
You see, when my wife and I were first together, we lived in an apartment near the University of Central Florida on the east side of Orlando. She had a whole apartment full of items, and I, well, didn’t. I simply moved in with her from my parent’s place in Winter Garden. So all in all, I moved, oh, 45 minutes away from where I grew up.
Once we were finished with college at UCF, we both moved down to the South Florida (Fort Lauderdale) area, which is where I was living as I started this column back near the beginning of this year.
Roughly two years later, i.e. now, I have finished all of my required coursework at Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and we have moved back up to Central Florida.
However, we’re in Lake County now, as opposed to Orange County like we were before. And I made sure not to move 45 minutes away from where I grew up this time...
...now we’re 10 minutes away.
We’re in our own home now mind you, and my parents sold our old home in Winter Garden. Of course, they’re in Clermont now, which is about 5 minutes away from here also in Lake County. Pathetic it may be, but home is home. :o)
The reason I bring all of this up is that between the apartment near UCF and our place in South Florida, we’ve been accumulating things for our future home. Now that we have it, it’s been taking a while to get everything up here, and then settled in its final place.
The good news is that everything is for the most part in its place, with the wall hangings starting to come up now. And of course there aren’t ANY Art of Disney posters that need to go up anywhere... (that’s sarcasm by the way) ;o)
So, with that in mind, I actually need to get going here again and hang my wife’s “Maleficent’s Fury” Art of Disney poster. Let me grab a fresh battery off the charger and my drill, and until next time...
...thanks for stopping on by, and I’ll see you next week!
