MGM Studios According to Tristin.

It was another hot day, and I mean Hot! We loaded onto the Disney transportation bus headed for a day of fun at MGM Studios. We were excited to see the park with it's additions of The Hollywood Tower Of Terror as well as Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster as well as excited to see my husbands Grandparents who drove up from Dania Florida to meet us for the big day at MGM!

We got there right at opening and walked on in headed directly for the Hollywood and Vine restaurant for our character breakfast. This was honestly the BEST character breakfast in all of Disney World. It was set up as a sit down style but had a buffet so you could help yourself. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale and Pluto all were dressed up like they were headed to the academy awards, all glitz and glamour. They made several rounds to everyone’s table. The food was equally great. We had eggs, omelets made to order, French toast, pancakes, fruit, just about anything you can imagine. This was the only character breakfast worth the $58.00.

We headed out stuffed, and made our way around the lake and onto New York Street where to our surprise we found Muppet Vision 3D. Of course one of my son's favorites from DCA in California. The attraction was exactly the same, but did turn my husbands Grandma into a fan of the attraction. We came out and headed into a few shops, and around the corner was Star Tours, at the time my son was to hot so we passed, we were on the move headed for the tram ride.

We headed up commissary lane to find a Toy Story theme all the shops were Toy Story related and there was a pizza place all made up to be the pizza place from Toy Story. My son was really excited. About 15 minutes later we emerged from a shop and my son had a Woody toy and a Buzz toy we purchased, now that he was content on to the tram ride.

As we entered the center of Hollywood Blvd. The giant Mickey hat towered over a shop with the huge 100 years banner, and right behind it was the great movie ride. So in we headed. You are seated in a moving car that seats about 20. The ride was excellent just the same as I'd remembered from 9 years ago. The ride covers great movie history from all the way back to the 20's till the present. With live action and audience participation included. Since we were sitting in the front of the car the people kept jumping on the car next to our seat. My husbands Grandpa was a participant for this ride, during an Italian mob like scene, the mobster took over our vehicle. He loved it!

Headed next to the tram ride. As we got in line they take you in groups, similar to universal studios Backlot tour. You get to go to a soundstage, or should I say outdoor sound stage. They chose five volunteers to get into rain gear to reenact a scene similar to the scene in Pearl Harbor. The put Three people on the deck of a boat and then they started shooting at them from the air to make things blow up around them. Complete with a flood scene.

Then we headed onto the tram. It was about a 30 minute tour takes you through homes that were used in television shows, and movies. Past the warehouse where costumes are made, past the old soundstage that hosted the Mickey Mouse Club from the more modern years. Then you pull into a soundstage that reenacts a flash flood, hurricane sort of thing, a truck explodes water comes from everywhere, very cool. My son loved it. My husbands grandma screamed the entire time. She had no idea till it was over that it was set up. HAHAHAHA.

We were also lucky enough to see a Disney Helicopter that Walt himself used. Well during our tram ride it decided to rain for real. It was the only day of our 9 day trip it rained. And let me tell you it rained! About 40 minutes worth. Just enough time to flood our stroller.

At this point we headed for lunch in a small food court on Sunset Blvd. Then we headed in to Voyage of the Little Mermaid. This show was outstanding. It really was a great show, we all loved it. It had wonderful effects and the entire theater is decorated to make you feel like you are underwater complete with water mist for the audience at special times. After this we went right across and into Playhouse Disney. Yes this is the exact same show as the one in DCA. At this time though it was not yet in DCA. My son was in Heaven being 3 years old at the time, this is where he wanted to stay. We had quite the fight to get him out of there when it ended.

We decided to head down Mickey Ave. where there is play area for kids but it was closed due to the rain. We then headed back down Sunset Blvd. and onto the Tower of Terror. Which now is also at DCA, but at this time was not. So we headed on. My son stayed out being to short with his Great Grandma and Grandpa. My husband and I headed on. As we rounded the bend to head up the walkway we were greeted by a sort of ghostly looking bell man who welcomed us, into the lobby we went and lined up to enter the library. Inside the library a television comes on in the corner to tell you all about what happened in the elevator. Then out we went and into a real elevator that took us down into a boiler room where there we boarded the actual ride. The ride itself is defiantly an E ticket in our books. We were so amazed at the end of it. Both of us really loved it, then we figured while our son is occupied we would head around the corner and onto Aerosmith's rockin roller coaster.

My husband was pumped being an Aerosmith fan and all. To our surprise it was more than just a roller coaster. They load you into a room with a screen behind glass and there in front of our face is Aerosmith (they are holograms, but they look real!) and their (manager, or actress portraying their manager) They are working on an album, then in comes the manager explaining to them they are gonna be late to an award show and she calls them a limo, then calls a big limo to fit all of us as we are invited to the show as well. Aerosmith and the manager head out the door into a limo. The doors to the room open and out we went into a line to board. The roller coaster was a huge stretch limo.

In we went. The limo plays only Aerosmith songs for the entire ride. And off we go to the show! The ride is inside a building in the dark all the props are glow in the dark you do upside down loops through a doughnut and over buildings. It was the best roller coaster. Once again another E ticket!

After that we headed back to the front gate, we passed on the Indiana Jones stunt show (I'd seen it before), my son was 3 he's not going to sit through it. We decided to pass on Fantasmic, same show as the one at Disneyland. But we did head up to Hollywood Blvd. To catch the Stars In Motor cars Parade. Defiantly one of the best parades we saw during our trip. The cars were outstanding all done up to match the character that rode in it. They had everyone from Marry Poppins, to Playhouse Disney and everyone in between and bringing up the rear was Mickey and Minnie! It was a great parade.

At this point we headed to the gate, the park was closing at 7:30 P.M. and it was about 7 P.M. Another fun day for us, but with an extra treat, we got to share it with my husbands grandparents, who might I say were troopers! As for the park, we were impressed, food and all was great. After all these years not much has changed but a few new rides however the rides added were well worth the visit.

MGM Studios should not be passed up, even though it rained, I’d do it all over again, rain and all!
