Make Sam Eagle Proud: Don’t Forget to Vote Today!
11/2/2004

I’d like to take a couple minutes out of your day to ask you, if you haven’t already, to get up and vote today. Maybe on your way home, or maybe between errands, your vote is at the core of what makes this Country as great as it is.

Plus, let’s face the facts. We as Disney fans should be more prepared than anyone for the lines that may be at some of polling places. Twenty minute wait? Please! Many of us have often waited over 60 minutes for an 8 minute ride. Of course, the attraction today won’t be open for another four years!

In addition, we’ve seen how important a vote can be; just look at the events that have been unfolding ever since Michael Eisner got a no confidence vote of over 43%. This well-entrenched CEO is likely going to lose his job over the next several months.

To really put things in perspective, consider this. The last election was won in Florida by nearly the same amount of people who could enjoy MuppetVision 3D in one showing. That’s right: one theater of Guests equaled the difference between winning and losing of the election last time around.

Lastly, I’d like to leave with a great quote from the man himself, Walt Disney:

Once a man has tasted freedom he will never be content to be a slave. That is why I believe that this frightfulness we see everyday today is only temporary. Tomorrow will be better for as long as America keeps alive the ideals of freedom and a better life. All men will want to be free and share our way of life. There must be so much that I should have said, but haven’t. What I will say now is just what most of us are probably thinking every day. I thank God and America for the right to live and raise my family under the flag of tolerance, democracy, and freedom.

Thanks for stopping on by, and I’ll see you at the polls!
