Why the monkey was chosen for the pet of Barbossa... 12/11/2004

When the film people were touring Disneyland for inspiration of the Pirates Of The Caribbean film and the Pieces of Eight. I am told the chandelier is one of the items that caught the eye of someone who develops the roles for the cast. Anyway, this super ugly monkey is hanging on the chandelier in the Pieces of Eight shop, he has always been there.
