A Lot Like Love - A Review
4/28/2005

A Lot Like Love starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet is a lot like enjoyable. We learn from the theatrical trailers and early on in the film that Oliver and Emily first meet 7 years ago by chance. The movie takes us by giant steps as they meet and meet again over the years. But wait! I don't want to give the plot away.

A Lot Like Funny! There are a great many fun filled and funny scenes in this movie. I especially liked the Japanese Restaurant scene. I laughed through the entire movie twice! I'm also not a big Kutcher fan but I loved his character, Oliver, in this film. I also liked Emily and how she grew up and matured. The first time I watched the movie, I also needed a hanky because parts of the movie are a lot like sad.

A Lot Like Sexy! Okay mom's here's the scoop. A Lot Like Love is rated PG-13 for very good reason. There is a lot of talk of promiscuous sex, a bit of nudity where we mostly see bare bottoms and a couple of highly suggestive sex scenes where we hear activity in one and pretty much see it in another. I have 3 teen age sons who I was very happy were not along with me either time I went to see the movie.

As an adult: I really enjoyed this movie. My husband (just home from Iraq) and I enjoyed it both times we went. I have to say we liked it better the second time once we knew how the movie ended. I was glad I didn't have any of my sons in tow even though they are all over 13 and I laughed heartily throughout the movie. I would also like to say that this movie has a younger adult target audience. Couples in their 20s, 30s and even 40s will enjoy this movie more. I gave this an audience response of 90 when I sat with a younger audience in their 20 and early 30s.

Don't forget! Buena Vista Distributors has another movie out this coming weekend, April 29th. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy rated PG. That looks A Lot Like FUN!!! You can be sure to see me, my husband, sons and friends there!
