My husband and I went to see the sneak preview of Herbie Fully Loaded on Sunday June 19 and had a wonderful time. The small auditorium was packed to capacity. They could have easily put this sneak in a larger auditorium since they had to turn people away.
Everyone had a good time at the movies! I'm a networker for Buena Vista (aka: Disney) and I had people come up to me afterwards asking me to thank Disney for the sneak preview and for such a fun movie. Several kids told me they own all the Herbie movies and this one is by far the best. One of our local radio DJs was over the top with enthusiasm for the movie and plans to plug the movie's opening this Wednesday. I've never had such an overwhelming response to a movie before. Of course, I was seated with 130 die hard Disney and Herbie fans. You probably know how I don't like to give out 100s for audience response???? Well, I had to give Herbie Fully Loaded a 100! This was a fun movie and the audience was very excited about it.
As an adult: I found the plot fun but lacking in depth. I really like a meaty story line. Still, the movie was a lot of fun. I joined in the laughter with the kids and my Herbie loving husband.
As a parent: I would say this movie targets young children up through the tween ages. With the NASCAR theme, this movie appeals to Dads and boys but because this was primarily a Lindsay Lohan movie, Herbie Fully Loaded greatly appeals to tween age girls. It is rated G and has nothing I found offensive in it. I think my 14 year old son will like this movie even if there is no blood and gore. By the way, Herbie stole the show!
Bottom line: If you LOVE the Love Bug, NASCAR, Disney and/or have kids who do...this movie is for you. It opens nationwide Wednesday June 22. It is a fun, light film full of enjoyment!
