Narnia - A Review

Seasons Greetings from our own Winter Wonderland in Alaska!

Disney's Chronicles of Narnia is by far my most favorite movie of 2005. What an enchanting movie!!! The story, special effects, acting, settings, lighting, mood...all of it is outstanding. I totally fell in love with Lucy all over again. And Mr. Tumnus was fabulous!!! How ever did they make him really look like a fawn? No! Don't tell me. I don't really want to know. It MAGIC! The witch was perfect as well.

Disney's Chronicles of Narnia appeals to a wide range of people. It is an idea family film for the holidays. It is a wonderful fantasy film and will please C.S. Lewis fans looking for the hidden allegory.

As most of you know, I go to a LOT of movies and I had some rare treats with this one. At the end, nearly the entire audience applauded. Generally, one or as many as 20 will applaud but not with Narnia. It was like going to the live theatre with all that applause. Made me want to jump up and yell Bravo! Another treat was watching a few 13 year old boys pretending to have a sword fight on the way out of the auditorium. I heard a great deal of discussion by audience members afterwards. People stood around and talked about how much they liked the movie before leaving the cinemaplex. What a joy!

If you are one of the very few who have not seen Disney's Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, I would like to encourage you to do so. This movie was totally delightful. I loved it and all my friends and family have loved it. I can only hope that with this title, Disney is leaving it open to make several more of the Narnia books into movies. Yes! Please!!!
