Shopping

Shopping, who doesn't love it? I know I do. And I especially love shopping at Walt Disney World. With so many stores and merchandise stands to choose from, shopping can be a lot of fun. I'm going to give you a tour of some of the best places to shop at. I'm sure all of you Disney World fans already know the best places to shop at, but I'm just going to give some of my opinions on these shops.

Let's start with the Magic Kingdom. Of course everyone knows The Emporium. Located on Main Street, this store has a lot to choose from. A good time to shop there would be when you are waiting for the parade on Main Street to start. Everybody lines up on Main Street early to catch a good spot, and if you're traveling with friends or family members, have one person hold the spot and everybody else can go shopping. Or if you don't want to see the parade, which would also be a good time to go shopping. Two shops in Tomorrowland are Mickey's Star Traders and The Merchant of Venus. They are close to one another and while you have time to kill waiting to use your Fastpass for Space Mountain, go shopping. These shops are conveniently located to busy rides that need a fastpass (Buzz Lightyear's, Space Mountain.) This next shop is located in Liberty Square. The Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe has many Christmas gifts to choose from. You could do your Christmas shopping early and get it out of the way, who wouldn't enjoy getting a Disney World ornament for Christmas. The shop also smells great; it smells like a mixture of spices, cinnamon and maybe a tad of ginger. It smells like Christmas to get you into the mood to buy Christmas gifts. Also check out Tinker Bell's Treasures and Sir Mickey's is Fantasyland. Both and wonderful shops to find good Disney souvenirs.

MGM Studios has a plethora of shops to choose from. All located on Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard are many shops to choose from. I love the Planet Hollywood Super Shop, just to look at the memorabilia is fun to do, you don't even have to buy anything. There is also Sid Cahuenga's One-of-a-Kind shop, it's on Hollywood Boulevard and it's to your left when you walk into the park. If you are a huge movie buff and willing to pay some cash for some things, you can pick up autographed pictures and other celebrity merchandise. They also have a lot of movie posters to choose from, you can't find them anywhere else. And let us not forget the gift shops that come at the end of the rides, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, and Rock n' Roller Coaster. All great ride souvenirs are sold there for any fanatic fan of the rides.

Now there isn't much shopping at EPCOT or Animal Kingdom, at least at what I can remember. I may be mistaken though; I have probably spent the least amount of time at these parks. Mouse Gear is the main shop at Epcot in Future World. Mouse Gear has everything, from clothes to stuffed animals to anything Disney. And it is a big shop; so give yourself time to look at everything the store has to offer. There are also many unique shops that go for each country in the World Showcase. So don't forget to buy your memento from each country you visit. In Animal Kingdom, there are some shops to visit. They all have wonderful items to choose from. There are two shops not too far from the Tree of Life, on the right and left of the path that goes around the tree. To be honest, we all go in the shops at Animal Kingdom to get away from the scorching sun and to get cooled off.

Finally, I only need two words for the next shopping destination. Downtown Disney. The World of Disney store, possibly the biggest Disney store ever. The Lego store, where you can look at the amazing, life size creations made from Lego's. That store was one of my favorites when I went to Downtown Disney. There is also the Virgin Megastore, a must for music and book lovers, and for chocolate lovers there is Ghirardelli's. There is also another great Christmas store too. There are so many shops to choose from, it's unbelievable.

All of these stores are great, not just because they are air conditioned, but because they have great Disney merchandise that you can get nowhere else. Now only if all of us shoppers were millionaires, which would make any shopping trip a whole lot better.
