It's been a few years since I have been to Disney World and I am going this year. I've missed it and some things have really changed since the last time I was there in 2004. Back then, I only went to the Magic Kingdom for one day, and this year, my family and I are going to the Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney. We are also either going to Epcot or MGM Studios. I know my family is not going to Animal Kingdom, so I will not be able to ride Expedition Everest. It looked like a very fun roller coaster but there will be lots of other new things for me to see. Here are a few things I am looking forward to on my Disney trip.
The new look on Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom appeared in May of 2005. I have seen pictures of it and it looks beautiful. All the gold on the castle makes it stand out and the many Disney figures in gold also add a nice look to the castle. I just hope the figures are big enough for me to see and get a good picture of. I don't know how many figures there are, but I have seen pictures of Peter Pan and Timon and Pumbaa. Also, there is a big, framed colorful picture of a castle in the middle of all the new decorations on the castle. Unfortunately, I have not seen any close ups of this picture. But photos of Cinderella's Castle aren't nearly as good as seeing the actual thing in real life. I can't wait to see Cinderella's new jazzed up castle.
I'm also excited to see the It's A Small World attraction. I noticed that in pictures of the attraction (most of the things I will mention in this article I have either seen pictures of or read about, so if I am wrong on any of this stuff, I'm sorry) the entrance to the attraction was remodeled. I heard that the ride got cleaned but I do not know if there are any new dolls added. I love this ride and I hope they did not change it too much. My family and I always go on this ride right before the park is closing. There is never a wait and you can almost always just walk on the ride then.
I have read so much about this next attraction that I really want to ride it. Mission: Space has been getting a lot of buzz lately. People have been getting hurt on this ride because it seems so real to actually being in space. I love thrill rides and I want to go on it very much. I want to feel what it is like when I take off for Mars, I read that you feel like you are weightless. I don't know if this is true or not and I will just have to experience it for myself to find out.
Another new ride at Epcot is called Soarin'. I know that this ride is based off the one in California. The video that you watch is of California and I have never been to California before, so it seems like an interesting ride. Your perspective of California is from a bird's eye point of view, which also seems really interesting. I saw on a television show of how they created the seating area that lifts you up, and that just made me want to ride this attraction even more.
I love to shop and I am excited to see the two new additions at the World of Disney store. I read that they added a Princess Room and an Adventure Room. I have seen pictures of these rooms and I really want to see the pirates in the Adventure Room. I also want to see the statue of Princess Aurora, I don't remember there being a statue of her before so it must be new. I hope there is something of Princess Jasmine in the Princess Room, she's my favorite princess. Another new shop I read about is Mickey's Mart, where everything is ten dollars and under. Now that is my kind of bargain shopping. There is also Goofy's Candy Company. Now I'm not that big on candy, but Goofy is my all time favorite Disney character, so I might just have to have a look around the store.
I can't wait for my trip to Disney. I am sixteen years old and I still like Disney World, but I guess you never out grow it. I think I might need to take a new picture of myself while I am there too. The one that I am using is a few years old. So for my next article, get ready to read about my trip to Disney and see a new updated picture.
