"Dream Along With Mickey" Show Review
10/2/2006

For the first time since May the 5th, 2005 a new show has replaced "Cinderellabration" on the Castle forecourt in the Magic Kingdom. The new show, "DREAM ALONG WITH MICKEY" debuted here this Saturday, one day before the official opening of the year-long celebration at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in California. "THE YEAR OF A MILLION DREAMS". This will be an exciting year as Disney will be giving away millions of "Dreams" to all it's guests. Cast Members will at random pick families and guests to receive gifts from Dream mouse ears, pin and lanyard sets, VIP passes to a Disney press event, shopping sprees, well you get the idea! Probably the most wished-for dream will be a one-night stay in the royal bedchamber in Cinderella's castle at Walt Disney World and an equally magical stay at a Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel, overlooking Disneyland and the California Adventure theme parks. There will be a million dreams handed out. After all, Disney is where all dreams come true!

The new show, Dream along with Mickey is a totally new experience from Cinderellabration. While Cinderellabration had more pomp and circumstance, due to a Royal coronation, and I personally thought that it was more geared toward the ladies and little princesses, the new show has more energy, dancing and the best part, the Fab four are among it's participants. Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Minnie are the stars of the show and of course, we did not leave out the Princesses, Belle, Snow White and Cinderella also attend. We also have a few villains who make their appearances, namely Captain Hook and Maleficent.

Here the show opens with Minnie and Donald and Goofy, all expecting Mickey Mouse soon and Minnie says he is bringing a big surprise. There are of course the Disney Dancers who are making the show complete, all with the beautiful costumes Disney is famous for. Of course, the party is about where Dreams really come true. And when Mickey tells the surprise is bringing guests to the Castle party to dream along with them, Donald is disappointed, he was probably hoping it was something better. It seems Donald doe not believe in dreams anymore. Well, its up to Mickey and the gang to show Donald that Dreams do come true if you wish hard enough!

So that is the premise of this new and energetic show. Goofy dreams he wants to be a pirate, Minnie a princess. All you have to do is believe. Then the princesses, Belle, Cinderella and Snow White enter with their escorts, begin dancing, the choreography is done with the usual Disney perfection. Soon, Peter Pan shows up and Goofy does become a pirate, but Captain Hook shows up also, and even later, Maleficient, who tells everyone that believing in dreams is nonsense and she will be the next ruler. Of course, Mickey comes to the rescue, but see the show yourself, I don't want to tell everything.

This is a really nice show, one I think is suited to almost everyone. Cinderellabration as I stated before, I believe was more for the ladies. This has something for everyone. And remember, all guests attending throughout the year will be randomly chosen by Cast Members to be awarded any of those "Million" dream prizes. So, get your dreams ready and join the fun!
