The Tower of Terror at the Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland Resort Paris, was a concept that the Imagineers apparently had when the park was first conceived, but due to financial constraints was never put into reality when the park was finally fully developed, and eventually opened.
The original WDS cost around £60million to build (to the best of my knowledge) and put the EuroDisney SCA company in a massive amount of debt. The park was a flop and even now the queue lines for the attractions are practically non-existent, though things have picked up. FastPass across the parks attractions has also been removed to reflect this. Finally, late last year The Walt Disney Company and EuroDisney SCA decided that it was time for the ToT to make its late debut. Constuction began around July/August last year and the new attraction is expected to open next Spring (2007). It will not be like the new Tokyo DisneySea one, or like either of the American ones. It's design matches that of the rest of the WDS (like a pale beige/orange exterior). The new ToT is situated on open unused land never accessible to Guests, behind the Armageddon attraction and the La Terrace snack stand and seating area. It is only a very small piece of land and most of the construction is upwards as you would expect.
Toon Studios will be a unique land to WDS, Paris and will feature two new attractions to the Disney line up along with an expected Character Location and possibly a snack stop and/or a gift shop. The two attractions that will open here are Cars and Turtle Twister (both of course PIXAR creations). The new Cars attraction will be set against a new New Mexico backdrop like that of the film. Guests will queue through the Gas Station as featured in the film, and when they finally arrive at the ride cars will be (presumably) put into vehicles that reflect the car characters from the film. The cars will be on a track much like Autopia but will be centrally controlled and will be somewhat 'wilder' than the Autopia in DLP. The new Cars attraction is expected to reflect the water version of Autopia - Aquatopia - at Tokyo DisneySea. The Cars attraction is also rumoured to be in the design and development stages at Disney's California Adventure too... but nothing official as yet... The Turtle Twister attraction will be a rollercoaster attraction that features a dark interior part to the experience and a brief outside experience. The ride will be set 'under the sea' with Nemo and all his friends and the scenery will reflect that of the film Finding Nemo. The outside part of the attraction presumably will be when your turtle shell carriage 'jumps out of the sea' (like surfacing for air). The carriages will spin and be designed, as I said, like a turtle shell, hence the name Turtle Twister. This whole new land is also expected to open in Spring 2007.
The new Toon Studios will be an extension to the current WDS and is located behind the Art of Disney Animation, right next door to the Flying Carpets Over Agrabah in the Animation Courtyard part of the park.
As for the new Bowling and Fun, well this consists of a new building attached to the back of the Disney Village, where, yes presumably there is a bowling alley, and also there is a new IMAX cinema too - an extension of the current Gaumont cinemas that are in Disney Village.
Any more questions please feel free to ask - I have photos too of this most recent trip including the construction works...
