Pirates!
5/28/2007

By: Kim

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is coming out on May 25 and I cannot wait to see it. Actually, I will have to. It is during final exam time for me and I will be quite busy studying. But the suspense of the third movie is killing me. I cannot believe the third movie is already here. I am going to mention a few things that make these movies great.

1. Pirates – who does not love pirates? Every since I was a young child, I loved pirates. I love everything about the idea. The outfits, the swords, the ships, the gold, and much more. This movie glamorizes a pirate's life. This movie makes pirates seem cool again. This movie shot pirates to stardom. After seeing the first movie, I was convinced to forget about going to school to become and teacher and become a pirate instead.

2. The fighting scenes – the sword fights. Jack Sparrow and Will Turner have a very well choreographed sword fight in the first movie. The swords were clashing, they were walking onto of the roof beams, a very good scene. In the second movie, there is another sword fight, it is between Will, Jack and Norrington.

Will and Norrington are fighting each other on the giant wheel. The wheel is turning and the swords are once again clashing. These movies definitely have a lot of action taking place within them.

3. The costumes and props – the Black Pearl, The Flying Duchman, and The Interceptor, are all amazing props. The ships are very detailed and look unbelievable. The costumes are also very detailed.

Everyone looks like a pirate or an English soldier. I especially like Jack Sparrow's outfit. His dreadlocks, his hat, and his tattoo of the sparrow, make him look even more like a pirate. All of the costumes in this movie look incredible.

4. Reminiscence – when I watch the movies, I remember the ride at the Magic Kingdom. The scene with the dog holding the keys in his mouth, teasing the prisoners stuck in the jail brings me right back into the ride.

I remember waiting in line, the small drop at the beginning of the ride that used to scare me when I was younger, and the Yo-Ho Yo-Ho A Pirate's Life For Me singing. I think of Disney World and all of the fun times I had there with my family.

5. Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom – the reason why all of us girls watch the movies. Even though Johnny Depp is very much in costume and does not look like himself, he still looks cute. Lets us not forget Orland Bloom, who looks, in my opinion, the cutest ever.

The first two movies were so fun to watch. I could watch them over and over. I just hope that this last movie lives up to everyone's high expectations.
