| Oh lord, what will happen now? I for one, would hate to see Comcast buy Disney, or for the two companies to merge in any way! Now maybe if Disney wanted to sell off part of their television arm, or one of their sports teams, I would not have a problem with it, but the thought of the entire company being owned by Comcast is not something I would like to see!
I feel that Disney would not be Disney if they sold out to Comcast. Keep the theme parks, the Animation departments, The Disney Cannel and Disney Pictures together at least. That is where all the Disney magic comes from anyway. Disney is not a company that should be owned by anyone else, I would not go to the Disney-Comcast theme parks, nor would I have any desire to see a Disney-Comcast movie or television program. The letters are starting to come in as well from people that are a little worried, to say the least, about the possible merger of the two entertainment superpowers. Here is one letter that we just got in from a woman in Pennsylvania.
As of today, the news looks good that Mr. Eisner and the rest of the board are not interested in any such deals with Comcast, and I truly hope they stay that way. This will be the true test to let the world know if Mr. Eisner and the rest of the board care about the company and the wonderful history of the Disney name, or if the only important thing to them is money as so many people are now alleging. I certainly hope that they care about preserving the Disney Magic for the future generations of children and for those of us crazy Disney fan’s around the world.
If you agree with Denise and her idea of a petition, please let me know by e-mail, as it is something I would be willing to start. This is something I feel very strongly about, I love Disney and all that the company, and the brilliant people that have been a part of Disney, have done for all of us over the past 7 decades and want to see it continue. |
