Dave Parker gives us a quick update this weekend before Central Florida gets hit by a lady named Jeanne. A little humor goes a long way...

I just wanted to get out a quick update for all of those wondering about the impending hurricane and, well, Central Florida that’s in the crosshairs.

Fortunately (or unfortunately the way you look at it), most people here have had a quick training session on hurricane preparation and survival, so most know what’s in store. Charley overall was worse for Central Florida than Frances, and in this case the current storm is shaping up to look more like Charley.

In our case, the storm is literally projected to come right over us – at 90 MPH or higher sustained winds in our area. Hopefully the storm will at least move over quickly.

Keep visiting Mickey News for updates on the area and the hurricane.

As always, if you’d like to help out, please contact your local Red Cross or United Way.

In the meantime, here are some cartoons that have kept the situation light for us that I’ve come across:

And of course my personal favorite:

Thanks for stopping on by, and I’ll see you next week!
