I have been to Disney World many times. I’m fifteen and I’ll admit I have been there. Most teenagers will say that Disney World is too childish for them but there is no age on when you can go to Disney World. You’re never too old to go there. I will give you a teenager’s perspective on attractions at Disney World.
First, lets start at the Magic Kingdom. You have rides teenagers probably won’t go on and rides they might go on. Now remember that these are my opinions. Dumbo is a ride most teens won’t go on. It’s a long wait to ride a minute ride that goes up and down. It would be different if it was a roller coaster and thrilling but Dumbo isn’t a roller coaster. Stitches Great Escape is another ride I haven’t been on it yet and I probably won’t go on it. Alien Encounter is probably a lot scarier than Stitches ride and I can see why Disney World replaced Alien Encounter. They wanted to make a ride for younger children and Alien Encounter wasn’t a ride for younger children. I know Disney World is kid friendly but they have to leave something there for teenagers. The Barnstormer is a roller coaster but a dainty one that most teens will pass up.
Some rides that teens will probably ride are Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Splash Mountain. All those rides are thrilling and they are either a roller coaster or have a big drop in them. (Drop in the beginning of Pirates and big flume drops in Splash.)
Secondly, is MGM Studios, a park that most teens would probably visit first. I’ll give two reasons why: Tower of Terror and Rock n’ Roller Coaster. What teen doesn’t want to go on a giant drop that drops you from 13 stories up? Rock n’ Roller Coaster is a real coaster with drops, loops, and fast speeds. Teens would probably skip Honey, I Shrunk The Kids area, way too old for that, Bear and The Big Blue house (also too old) and Backlot Tour.
Finally, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. At Animal Kingdom there is the ride Dinosaur, which is a cool ride. There is also Primeval Whirl. It spins you around on a roller coaster track. It mixes to things to together to make a very enjoyable ride. There is also the River Rapids ride. It was a long wait for a ride that I personally didn’t think was worth it. At EPCOT there is Mission Space, which I haven’t ridden yet but it seems like it would be a cool ride. Test Track is not that great of a ride. For older teens, they can already drive and don’t need to go on a car that drives for them. There are also a lot of educational things at EPCOT. But I don’t come to an amusement park to learn and I bet most other teens don’t either.
Teenagers are just looking for some thrilling, fun rides. Not babyish rides. Roller coaster type fast rides. There are other things to do at Disney World besides the parks. There is Downtown Disney and they can go shopping. The Virgin Megastore has a bunch of c.d.’s and magazines and music that teens would like. As long as teens are having fun and enjoying themselves, who cares what they do.
