The new Disney Ice Shaver does an amazing job at turning ordinary ice cubes from your freezer into light and fluffy shaved ice that rivals even the most expensive commercial ice shavers. Load the hopper with ice, press the button and before you know it you will have a cup of beautiful shaved ice just waiting for you to add your favorite syrup and enjoy this refreshing summer time treat. Of course if you are like me, then you don’t need to wait until summer to enjoy shaved ice!

What I Like:
I love the quality of the ice shavings that come out, they are not chunky at all, more like light flakes of ice that you find in snow. Most small shaved ice machines that I have seen more or less just crush the ice into little bits, not shave them like this unit does. It is relatively fast in its shaved ice production as well, at least for what you would expect from a small home unit. The shape and color will be a favorite among the Disney fans out there. The familiar red and white colors, the small “ears” that are the flavor dispensers and the large white feet should instantly make you think of Mickey Mouse. The shaver also has a handy little cone holder that you can attach and hold the cone under the ice dispenser.

What I Would Change:
There are only a couple of things I would change to the Disney Ice Shaver the first being the little holders for the flavor dispensers. They look like little mouse ears on the top of the unit. I would make them lock the dispensers as they just lightly sit in the holder and if you move the unit they fall out. Secondly, the unit comes with an ice shaper that looks a lot like the Mouse Ear hats you buy at the theme parks, this ice shaper needed to have a little bit bigger opening so it could have fit on top of the ice shaver like a hat! The shaver has a hole to put the ice thorough at the top of the unit and it seems like the shaper could have been a perfect thing to put on there when not in use. Not only would it have made the shave look like it was wearing mouse ears but it would have been a great way to keep things out of the shaver when not in use.
