“One man’s ‘trash’ is another man’s treasure”

Heeeeellllooooo fellow Disney fanatics! I’m back again, and this time with something that will knock your socks off. Today’s topic has me so excited that I’m not sure I can even string words together so that they make sense. I’m sure that when you finish reading this article you will be equally as excited, if not more so.

In my very first article I promised to bring you the latest news on Disney merchandise that was available outside of the DisneyStore and DisneyDirect sphere of influence. Today I’d like to talk about DisneyAuctions.com. This great website has more items than you can shake a stick at, and after even a minute there you’ll wonder why you were even thinking of shaking a stick at it. So, you have a favorite ride at Disneyland/Disney World, but they won’t let you take the ride car home with you? Is there a sign at one of the parks that you ALWAYS have to have your picture taken in front of, but they seem to get upset when you get out the ratchet set and attempt to un-mount the sign to take it home with you? Well look no further than DisneyAuctions.com. A quick search here may net you the item you’ve always dreamed of.

Let’s take a quick peek at a couple of the items they have up for auction at the time of writing. Let’s see…

DISNEYLAND Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Vehicle Moley: Well this ride dates back quite a bit, in fact, I don’t think it’s been in service for some years now, but if Mr. Toad’s Wild ride was one of your favorites, you can own this authentic ride vehicle for only $2,500.00. (it’s an auction, so price may increase) Mr. Toads Wild Ride dates back to the opening of Disneyland in 1955, so this is truly a chunk of Disney history. Ok, moving on…

Disney World Millennium Celebration Signs: Want to own a piece of Disney’s Millennium celebration, but want something that not many other people have? How about a Disney MGM sign, or a Walt Disney Animal Kingdom sign, used and installed for the millennium celebration? Not good enough? How about a Spaceship Earth sign, designed and used for the millennium celebration?

Disney Movie Props: What’s that you say? Not interested in owning a little chunk of the happiest place on earth? Here’s something that may interest you then; movie props. Actual props from some of the movies you’ve grown to love. There are some props from the movie The Alamo, The Rookie, Mr. 3000 (clothes worn by Angela Bassett), and Muppets’ Wizard of Oz. These are all props that were actually used, and not recreations of props.

There are many other items to be seen and had at the site, more than I could possibly list in my small space provided. I recommend that you click on over to disneyauctions.com, after you’re finished here at mickeynews.com, and see what there is to get. Each item has great pictures and descriptions, and they have also listed the various wear and tear that the items have, so there will be no surprises when your item arrives. Some of the items are so large that you must pick them up, or arrange for pick-up, while others will be shipped to you.

Some more information which you may find interesting is that these auctions are done through Disney’s own section at Ebay, so if you have issues with ebay then you may be out of luck. Perhaps the most important bit of information, besides the items themselves, are the COAs. Each item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, so you can be sure that what you are getting is actually collectible, and not a fake. After all who wants to spend all that money for something that isn’t real. This way you are protected and so is Disney. A happy customer (fan) is a return customer (fan).

Remember these are auctions, so you may be able to get a real deal here, but then again, who can put a price on happiness and good memories? This is like owning an actual piece of history. Think of how many thousands, or even millions of peoples have sat in, or looked at the item which you will be displaying so proudly in your living room. It’s dizzying and breathtaking to think of it.

So, the next time you are at the park and are on a ride that you love, just think that you may be able to go home and buy a piece of that ride.

Well that’s an earful – until next time, I’m Scott Short…
