Disney, In The Eyes Of A British Teen
3/10/2006

By: Andrew M

Hi, I'm Andy and I'm a British fifteen year old. Not the most obvious choice for a Mickey News columnist.

Well I'm not just any fifteen years old. I know my stuff about Disney, without sounding big-headed – six trips to the Walt Disney World Resort under my belt, a seventh planned, and one trip to the Disneyland Resort Paris. Don't let my stats fool you though – my brain is a sponge, made to absorb. And boy, have I absorbed a lot of information about Disney over the years!

I'm a regular poster on MiceChat.com, and a regular reader of MousePlanet.com, MiceAge.com, JimHillMedia.com (with regret), and of course, MickeyNews.com. I have three years left of school, after which I plan to participate in the Walt Disney World International Program, representing my country at the United Kingdom Pavilion at Epcot. If you're there in 2009, pay me a visit!

So, what am I going to be writing about?

I am a complete Imagineering buff, and have been known to immerse myself in all the Internet has to offer about the secrets and mystery of Walt Disney Imagineering for hours upon end. I take a great interest in the affairs of all Disney resorts and in the company itself – I am a firm believer in the return of creativity to the various wings of The Walt Disney Company, as you may notice over the coming months.

That doesn't really give a clear description of what I am going to be writing about… but that all depends on the developments of Disney in the future. We all know Disney has been turned on its head by the arrival of Pixar and its executives; I will be covering the official inauguration of Pixar into Disney in great deal and its effects on all areas of the Company. Disneyland's fiftieth jubilee is still in full swing, which will also be a popular topic among my columns until the celebration ends on December 31st, 2006.

So, if you are interested in reading the views of a teenager who lives 396.9 miles from the nearest Magic Kingdom… (Paris, for those who care)… check back next week for a look at what is coming next for Hong Kong Disneyland and the DisneyToon Studios.
