If A is for Aames, Willie and Z is for Zort Sorts, then the end all, be-all source for all things Disney is the third edition of Disney A to Z, the encyclopedia of Disney facts compiled by Disney Archivist Dave Smith. This book, weighing in at a whopping 763 pages, is the source for all things Disney from A to Z. With over 6,500 entries, the whole project took Dave Smith over 380 hours to complete, and the dedication and the time well spent definitely show.

Everything you ever wanted to know about anything Disney—from every ride that was ever built at any Disney theme park, every Disney movie, animated or otherwise, even every actor or actress that ever played in a Disney sponsored movie—is in this book. For instance, did you know that the name of one of the elephant dancers in Fantasia was Elephanchine? Or that the Electric Umbrella in Epcot opened on June 24th, 1994? Or how about the fact that Dwight D. Eisenhower, thirty-fourth president of the United States, visited Disneyland in December of 1961 with his wife? And that's just from two pages of the E section! Interesting facts abound in this hefty book. Not only can you find everything you ever wanted to know about every Disney park attraction, restaurant or ride, but this book is a great place to look for a movie recommendation on a slow Friday night. With every animated short featuring Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy ever made, as well as hundreds of live-action films, you'll never be bored on a Friday night again!

And if Disneyland specifically is what you're interested in, this book has six full pages just with entries starting with the word "Disneyland." Never again will you have to argue with friends over who the 250,000,000th guest was; this book clearly tells you that it was Brooks Charles Arthur Burr on August 24th, 1985. Want to know the 1,000,000th guest? That was Elsa Marquez on September 8th, 1955. Or perhaps you and your Disney obsessed friends argue over which attractions were at Disneyland on opening day. Have no fear, Disney A to Z lists all twenty of them, from King Arthur Carrousel to the Golden Horseshoe Review.

Or, if your friends already consider you the master of all Disney trivia, wow them with even more little known facts. While all Disney fanatics probably know what an "E ticket" is, I bet your friends would be amazed to find that astronaut Sally Ride called her first journey into space a "real E ticket ride." Or maybe the name of the hot-air balloon in the shape of Mickey Mouse (Ear Force One) would get you some credits with your Disney loving friends.

All this, and so much more, is at your fingertips when you buy Disney A to Z. And while the $40 price tag may seem like a lot at first, once you consider the wealth of information in this book, (and the fact that you can get monthly supplements on the Disney website) you can't help but realize what a bargain it truly is. It's no wonder, seeing as how its compiler has been working as a Disney Archivist for over thirty years. A great job, a great man, and a great book; Disney A to Z is a must have for any hard-core Disney enthusiast.
