Story: Jess Aarons had to be the Fastest runner at Lark Creek Elementary School, the best, but when he was challenged by Leslie Burke, a girl, that was just the beginning of a new season in Jess's life. Leslie and her parents were new comers to the rural community where Jess Lived, and were thought to be a bit odd, for they didn't even own a TV, though their house was filled with books. Some-what to Jess's surprise, he and Leslie became friends, and the worlds of imagination and learning that she opened to him changed him for ever. It was Leslie's idea to create Terabithia, their secret Kingdom in the woods where they reigned supreme. There no enemy - not their teacher Monster Mouth Meyers, their schoolmates Gary Fulcher and Janice Avery, Jess's Four sisters, or even Jess's own fears and Leslie's imaginary foes - could defeat them. The Legacy that Leslie finally brought to Jess enabled him to cope with the unexpected tragedy that touched them all. -- Novel by Katherine Paterson. --

Comment: i thought the bridge to terabithia a very moving and holistic movie. when i read i get into the book the way these kids got into their imagination. i was glad to see disney show that kids can handle trouble with each other without violence. jess aarons learned a valuable lesson in learning how to get out of his hiding place inside himself and face the world. keep up the good work.

Comment: Disney marketers are liars!! I was sorely disappointed when I went to see Teribithia last night. I have 5 children ages, 12, 8, 6, 4, and 3. I brought them all to the movies expecting to see a magically filled, fun, fantasy story. Instead we got a movie filled with tragedy and heartbreak. The trailer TOTALLY misrepresents the movie and my wife and I feel cheated and swindled. We paid 50 for the whole family to see a fantasy movie and we got a movie that none but my 12 year old would even be watching. I've never read the book, but had I read it, I would have NEVER taken my children to see this movie (at least my babies). I think Disney was deceitful and really needs to take a look at the kind of stance it's taking. I've lost faith in the Disney Brand. We aren't rich and really are at a loss (literally) because of the blatant misrepresentation of the movie. Disney has let us down on this one and for myself; I'm going to be EXTRA critical about what they put out from now on. From my point of view, the Disney Company is a liar.
