Walt Disney World: Don't trade those Disney monorail pins?

The recent announcement that the pink and purple monorail colors will be retired made me wonder if Disney merchandise depicting those trains will be affected. Will the trading pins be retired, too, thus increasing their value? What about the monorail playsets, especially the battery-powered train with the large track that used to be displayed at Once Upon a Toy Story?
