Firefighters and volunteers armed with hoses and soapy sponges cleaned hundreds of cars to raise funds for eight-year-old Charlie Hall.

The WGC girl has Rett Syndrome and her family want to take her to Disneyland Paris before a vital operation which will mean she is no longer able to go on rides.

The firefighters from the Bridge Road East station organised the fundraising drive on Saturday and have helped take Charlie through the halfway mark on her fundraising quest.

Mum Laura said: "We had people queuing from the moment we opened.

"A big thank you to everybody, Charlie really enjoyed the day too."
