Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World will hold their annual Star Wars Weekends over the next four Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from tomorrow, May 22, to June 14.
The event is a tribute to all things Star Wars, featuring a Star Wars motorcade, costumed Star Wars characters and celebrity guests.
Children have the opportunity to participate in the Jedi Training Academy, located next to the Star Tours attraction, where select participants can practice their lightsaber skills and fight Darth Vader. If trivia is more of your child's thing, the Padawan Mind Challenge pits children 11 and under against each other to test their Star Wars knowledge.
Behind the Force, a presentation that gives a behind the scenes look at "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", will feature Ashley Eckstein and James Arnold Taylor, both of whom are voice actors from the movie and TV series. Showtimes for Behind the Force are 11 a.m. and 3:35 p.m.
This weekend's visitors will have the chance to meet Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok in "Return of the Jedi") and Ray Park (Darth Maul in "The Phantom Menace"), who will both be available for autographs at 9:45 a.m., 2:25 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. Autograph sessions with Jay Laga'aia (Captain Typho in "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith"), who serves as the celebrity host for each weekend, will be held at 9:45 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Visitors have the chance to meet over 50 Star Wars characters, as well as Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Vader Goofy and Stormtrooper Donald, who will be featured in various locations near Star Tours and Premiere Theater. Attractions Magazine provides a complete list of characters slated to appear at Star Wars Weekends.
At 11:40 a.m., the weekend's visiting celebrities and costumed Star Wars characters will pass through the park in a grand motorcade, leading up to a celebrity welcome at noon.
Theme park admission is required to attend the events. It is highly recommended that you arrive early to get a FASTPASS ticket because you will need one to obtain an autograph and distribution is limited.
