Last minute practice and preparation is underway for this cheerleading squad headed to Disney World.
"We've gotten first place at Indian River, first place at Albany, first place at Oswego, second place at New Jersey which were going to Nationals now in Florida, and we've been working really hard," said South Jefferson Pop Warner cheerleader Leah Wisner.
The South Jefferson Pop Warner squad will compete at Nationals, December 8th through the 10th.
These girls are the first team from the Greater Watertown Pop Warner League to qualify and compete in Nationals.
"It feels good because I've been a cheerleader for this is my fourth year and I've never gotten this far so I think for most of us and pretty much all of us it's been a very good experience," said cheerleader Brittany Shaw.
Before the girls fly off to Florida they needed to raise money to make their dream come true.
With fundraiser and the help of the community the girls raised all the money they needed.
"It's very exciting. Everyone's been very supportive, very helpful and in this whole things and we couldn't have done it without everyone's help," said assistant coach Anna Vann.
It's been a Cinderella season for the squad. The girls say it doesn't matter if they place at Nationals, all their hard work this season was worth it.
"Hopefully we just get placed and if we don't, at least we've gotten this far and that's all that matters," Shaw said.
The squad leaves for Florida Wednesday morning and will compete at Walt Disney World Thursday.
South Jefferson is not the only local team that will be competing at Nationals.
The Pop Warner Fayetteville-Manlius cheerleading squad is also on the roster to compete.
However, those girls are still working on raising money to fund the trip.
