Disney's familiar animated characters - Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pinocchio, Goofy, Snow White, Genie and Simba - will come to life on ice in an upcoming performance in Seoul.

"100 Years of Magic- Disney on Ice," an ice-skating show originally produced in 2001 to mark the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney's birth, will be staged Aug. 6-22 at the Olympic Gymnastics Hall in southeastern Seoul, on the last stop of its Asian tour.

The 120-minute show, comprising a total of 13 episodes in two acts, features a mix of dance, song, highlights of animation and stunts. Approximately 50 beloved animated characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Mulan will revive highlights from Disney's 13 animation films including "The Little Mermaid" and "A Bug's Life."

Audience will also be treated to spectacular scenes ranging from an African jungle to the Great Wall of China while listening to Academy Award-winning music including "Beauty and the Beast" (Beauty and the Beast, 1991), "A Whole New World" (Aladdin, 1994) and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" (The Lion King, 1994). "Disney on Ice," an omnibus show, begins with Jiminy Cricket's warm welcome and then snippets of various movies are performed. From "Toy Story," Woody, Andy's favorite toy, is afraid of being replaced by a new toy Buzz Lightyear, a space ranger, but later the two find the meaning of friendship. Princes and princesses from different animations including Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel prove true love really exists. The Genie of the lamp appears on the rink to make children's wishes come true in "Aladdin." Simba falls in love with Nala in "The Lion King." And the show drops the curtain with the finale titled "100 Years of Magic."

The original cast and staff will take part in the Seoul performance, directed by Jerry Bilik. It also features action scripted by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Sarah Kawahara, sets designed by David Potts and dazzling costumes by Scott Lane.

The show features a cast of over 50 professional figure skaters from different countries. The audiences will be captivated by their acrobatics and on-ice back flips. Scott Irvine of the United States will fill the roles of the talkative Genie from "Aladdin" and Geppetto from "Pinocchio." Russian pair Natalia Zaitseva and Dimitri Savine will display their skills and passion performing Belle and Prince from "Beauty and the Beast" and Nala and Simba from "The Lion King." Former 1992 Winter Olympic Japanese skater, Tomoaki Koyama, plays Buzz Lightyear from "Toy Story," and Shang from "Mulan."

"Disney on Ice," produced by Feld Entertainment, Inc., has so far grabbed the attention of people from all ages in about 47 countries.
