Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., was voted the world's best theme park, but its Florida counterpart Walt Disney World and rival Universal Orlando also were honored in results released late last week of an annual Internet-based poll. ThemeParkInsider.com is a consumer guide to theme parks that claims more than 20,000 registered members. Its poll drew 75,000 Internet votes for its seventh annual Theme Park Insider Awards, which honored Disneyland as the top park for the first time. In no particular order, Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando and last year's winner, Busch Gardens-Williamsburg, Va., were also cited as runners-up. |
