Rumors
I think the new clearing may be for Beastly Kingdom. I'm only guessing this because of the success of The Festival of the Lion King found in Camp Minnie-Mickey. Plus, with the success of Expedition Everest, it would only make sense that the Imagineers would get the go-ahead to build more attractions themed towards fantasy and adventure.

     Reported by: staples513 on: 5/25/2008

Negative. That was a staging area for the construction of Everest. It's been used as an area to park large equipment for quite a while now. The real interesting rumor our there right now is about "JungleTrek" or the former "Night Kingdom". That park's supposed foot print has been greatly scaled down to the point where it could be a park within a park... so maybe that's one thing that could go there. Also, the Australia concept has been batted around for a while now (but would they really do that that right after adding Nemo to Dinoland?).

If you go to Google maps and look at Animal Kingdom, there is land cleared between Everest and the Safari rides. What could this be????

I heard somewhere that Imagineers are working on a 5th gate to Walt Disney World which is said to be Disney's America.

     Reported by: on: 4/21/2007

They are always dreaming up new park ideas at WDI. That does not mean there is a 5th park coming to Walt Disney World. They are focusing, right now, on the new 500 acre shopping, dining, and entertainment expansion.

     Reported by: jakehollier@hotmail.com on: 3/1/2007

Disney is waiting for the green-light so they can go ahead & start working on the project. And what I saw from concept art was a Unicorn entounter & a Jungle Cruise featuring dragons.

Now this sounds wierd but I heard a while back that ak are getting another rollercoaster and the themeing is king kong, i don't belive it has anyone else heard of this, or are my sources just shit. lol

     Reported by: jayjayboy@hotmail.com on: 1/10/2007

Sorry Jake, but King Kong is under the rights to Universal Studios. But Universal Studios is thinking of a new King Kong attraction, & as for Animal Kingdom well they could be thining of a Mighty Joe Young attraction but I really doubt it.
          Confirmed By: ChampDisney On: 1/13/2007

is it true ak will not be getting there next big attraction for the next eight years due to they want to planning of the fith park that may be built is this true.

     Reported by: jakehollier@hotmail.com on: 12/14/2006

I believe not, many of us have heard of this fifth gate them park but I don't believe it will be coming that fast. You see Animal Kingdom & MGM Studios have alot on their table & alot they haven't aten yet. Just take Beastly Kingdom for example for Animal Kingdom that is still a rumor going around & I believe it someday it will take over Camp Minnie-Mickey & rumors did say that "2" E-tickets were to be put in Beastly Kingdom.
          Confirmed By: ChampDisney On: 12/28/2006

I heard that its either going to be MGM or AK getting an Indian Jones ride. And I think it goes well in the AK than MGM but its the Stunt Show that makes people want it in MGM. So is the rumor true?

     Reported by: ChampDisney on: 10/21/2006

From what I understand, the land clearing back by Asia is not for the Jungle Trek park. This was supposed to go west of the Magic Kingdom as a separate "park". The DAK land clearing may be for a new version of Beastly Kingdom, but that would be several years away. I believe they may add something new at the Camp Mickey-Minnie site first.
          Confirmed By: Gentry On: 11/11/2008

Isn't there supposed to be a new ride coming to Camp Minnie-Mickey that has to do with time traveling and finding mythological creatures like the Wooly Mamoth?

     Reported by: Amros626 on: 10/9/2006

You mean Beastly Kingdom. Yes Beastly Kingdom was always probably on the list for Animal Kingdom to build & still is, but I never heard of a Mamoth being such part of Beastly Kingdom but what I did hear was that those magical creatures were Dragons & Unicorns. And what I also heard was that both of those creatures were supposed to get attractions like a Dragons rollercoaster type of ride.

is DAK geting a Monorail

     Reported by: Joshua on: 7/24/2006

Do you know if they will be coming back soon at any disney park in disney world including animal kingdom?

For those of you who are clueless to what Expedition Everest is let me clue you in. Expedition Everest is the answer to the many demands of bringing a copy of Disneyland's ride called the Matterhorn to Disney World. Expedition Everest will be a combination of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and The Matterhorn. The story of Ex. Everest will probobly be a tour of Mt. Everest gone horribly wrong. As the tour makes it's way to the peak of the mountain you will come face to face with the Abomidable Snowman.(a.k.a. the Yeti) In a desperate attempt to escape the wrath of the Yeti you accidentally lose control of the tour train. And that's when the ride starts. (again this is only my guess of the story)

     Reported by: Treeko626 on: 10/11/2005

You have the main idea. Having personally ridden it five times so far, I can say they go into much more detail than that. It is a true e-ticket, five star thriller.
          Confirmed By: booeisner On: 3/28/2006

Sorry, I just figured out what the person below said. Expedition Everest is the largest (and longest) rollar-coaster Disney has made so it's probobly a pretty long ride.

thank you for telling me that

     Reported by: on: 9/17/2005

I don't exactally know what you mean but Ex. Everest will probobly have a wait time of 1-2 hours. Or if you mean when It'll open (I just resontly visited Animal Kingdom and it looks like they are almost done building it) I'd say it'll open between December and March.

Its been confirmed that a 5th park is not in the works at the present time, but instead a new section of animal kingdom will be constructed starting late in 2006. It will not be completed until summer of 2008. The main entrance to this new region will be where camp minnie mickey is now. Finally the myth is true and Disney will be building Beastly Kingdom. One main feature of this new area is rollercoaster that stimulates your mind and senses. Be on the lookout for a ride that combines smell, sight, sound, as well as feel as you race through different parts of the planet. With a hot, cold, wet, dry, loud, and fast experience around every corner. On a side note, the dragon in the center of the Animal Kingdom logo was first designed after the reign of fire movie, but due to load noises and the use of gas and fire, they decided not to use this theme (Due to the close proxomity of the anaimals). Instead it was constructed as part of the backstage tour at Walt Disney Studios (Disneyland Paris). Now to make up for the logo one of the indoor rollercoasters designed for Beastly Kingdom will feature a dragon as well as other mythical and prehistoric creatures. One being the wully mammoth.

I was looking at the logo for the animal kindom and I noticed a dragon in the middle of the logo and since Disney hasn't made an attraction in the animal kingdom with a dragon (yet) I think they'll make some sort of a ride like Dinasaur only with a dragon.(Maybe even with the Malifecent dragon) But I dunno this is a complete guess so don't blurt out at me if I'm wrong.

The expedition everest so I heard will be opeing in late 2006. Said to be the largest mountain and longest roller coaster in disney history. It is said to be a train type roller coaster that has to do with taking you up into the mountain where the legendary Yetty lives and scares off visitors of the mountain. Hmm sounds like a revamped and modernized version of the Matterhorn.

     Reported by: trisdancer@hotmail.com on: 6/8/2004

From an inside source, Expedition Everst will actually be open in time for the holiday season of 2005! It will be the largest mountain in the state of Florida (even though man-made)! And as far as the ride sounding like a revamped Matterhorn, trisdancer@hotmail.com nailed it on the head. Park partrons complained about not having the Matterhorn ride in WDW, so here is the answer!!
