Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the Disneyland Resort

Follow the scent of gingerbread into the stately lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the Disneyland Resort, and there you’ll find the “Grand” Gingerbread House. Standing seven feet tall and 12 feet wide, this massive confection took a whopping 1,400 hours to bake and assemble.

What does it take to make such a beautiful (and edible) display?

  • 600 pounds gingerbread
  • 600 pounds powdered sugar
  • 12 gallons egg whites
  • 3.5 gallons lemon juice
  • 150 pounds fondant
  • 1 pound glitter

The gingerbread house is assembled using a little magic and a lot of skill by six craftsmen, two electricians and 16 bakers and pastry chefs.

Can’t make it to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to check it out yourself? Take a look at the all the festive details in these photos!
