In an exciting development, Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have unveiled the name of their much-anticipated sports-focused streaming service: Venu Sports! This new online destination for sports enthusiasts is scheduled for launch this fall, bringing a new wave of energized, live sports content straight to your devices.

First announced in February, Venu Sports (pronounced as “venue”) is getting ready to offer a treasure chest of sporting action from 14 networks, including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, Fox, FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network, TNT, TBS, and truTV. Additionally, subscribers will gain access to ESPN+ – which currently retails at $10.99 per month. While the exact pricing for Venu Sports is still under wraps, industry insiders predict it might land around $35 per month.

Customers will be able to dive into their favorite games through a dedicated Venu Sports app. Even more enticing, the service will offer bundling options with other popular Disney platforms like Disney+, Hulu, and Max for those looking to create a comprehensive streaming package. Pete Distad, CEO of Venu Sports, assures fans that Venu Sports will be more than just another streaming service, promising a “best-in-class product” that leverages cutting-edge technology to captivate sports fans.

Despite the buzz, the streaming venture isn’t without its hurdles. Regulatory approval is still pending, and the US Department of Justice is reviewing the joint venture due to concerns related to competition and consumer impact. Adding further drama, FuboTV, a direct competitor, has filed an antitrust lawsuit, alleging that Venu Sports could stifle competition and inflate prices.

As always, Disney, Fox, and WBD are working diligently to finalize the venture, aiming to storm the sports streaming market this fall. To keep up with all the latest, be sure to follow along and share your excitement and predictions in the comments below!
