Have you ever noticed this lovely dancing fountain at Epcot located just behind Spaceship Earth? It’s the Fountain of Nations and in addition to being a lovely point of interest for guests, it has been an important part of park history since Epcot opened in 1982.

A special “International Ceremony of the Waters” took place right here on the park’s opening day, in which cultural representatives traveled to Epcot from around the world. Each one brought with them a container of water from their nation and poured it into the fountain. Contributions from a total of 29 nations were featured in the ceremony.

Today, the fountain’s 200 pneumatic shooters create dancing water shows that delight guests both day and night.
