As day turns to night at Pandora – The World of Avatar, the breathtaking landscape transforms into a bioluminescent wonderland that is truly a sight to see. This brightly glowing forest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s newest land inspired a limited release interactive banshee that flies into The Rookery at Windtraders on May 27.

“The interactive banshees are wildly popular with Guests exploring Pandora,” explained Katie Thompson, Global Merchandise Strategy at Disney Parks Merchandise. “This banshee celebrates the first anniversary of this exotic land at the theme park, and offers guests a unique collectible from their visit.”

The bioluminescent landscape-inspired banshee will be packaged with a display perch and a Certificate of Authenticity. It contains authentic sounds and includes three ranges of motion – mouth, head, and wings – that are controlled by hand.

Windtraders currently offers 11 colors of banshees, including one created for the 20th Anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This limited release banshee was inspired by a moss-covered wall found at Pandora that’s become an Instagram sensation.

The interactive banshees were recognized in 2017 by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) as the Judges’ Choice for Games and Merchandise Excellence.

Guests who connect with banshees at The Rookery are encouraged to make a pledge to respect and protect the natural world on Pandora and back home on Earth. Upon seeing other banshee keepers, guests should use the traditional Na’vi phrases of greeting and respect, “Oel Ngati Kameie” (“I See You”).
