In a spectacular celebration of culture, Disney recently hosted “The Power of Joy: Creator Summit,” a special two-day event designed exclusively for 77 prominent Black influencers. Held at the iconic Disney Studio Lot in Burbank and the magical Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, this summit was a masterpiece of engagement and connection.

Anastasia Ali, Vice President of Enterprise Commercial Inclusion Strategy at the Walt Disney Company, perfectly summed up the event’s essence: “Black creators are the purveyors of pop culture, influencing consumers from around the globe. We created this custom, curated event especially for them because they are driving culture.” This summit indeed recognized the influential power of these content creators, offering them unique insights and first-look access to upcoming Disney content and experiences.

The Power of Joy summit provided numerous magical moments. Attendees enjoyed an exclusive tour of Walt Disney Animation Studios, attended insightful discussions with Disney leaders, and received surprise gifts that added an extra layer of excitement to the event. Brandi Marie King, an influencer specializing in entertainment, travel, and lifestyle content, reflected on her experience, saying, “It’s just fun all around. All the Disney magic, it never stops. At 10am, I found out I’m going to D23, and two of my friends won cruises.”

Jill Estorino, President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International and Commercial Inclusion Strategy Executive Sponsor, emphasized the summit’s importance: “This is the first time we’ve done this type of an event, but it’s not really an event. It’s the beginning of a relationship with some of the most important Black creators and influencers from around the country.” Disney’s commitment to fostering deeper connections with influential content creators highlights its ongoing dedication to inclusivity and diverse storytelling.
