Stitch, whose real name is Genetic Experiment 626, is that ferocious, troublemaking alien that evil genius Dr. Jumba Jookiba created out of the genes of the galaxy’s strongest and most fearsome creatures. Dr. Jookiba is known for his evil genetic experiments and he created Experiment 626 to cause chaos and trouble across the galaxy. Although Jumba was disappointed at first because “Stitch” looked too cute, he continued to finish the experiment by charging Stitch’s molecules, but before he completed the job, he and his creation was captured by Officers of the Galactic Federation.

Experiment “626” was then sentenced to life exile on a deserted asteroid by the Grand Councilwomen. Given the task of taking him there was Captain Gantu, however, 626 escapes Gantu and crash-lands on Planet Earth; on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii. Although experiment 626 was never finished by Dr. Jookiba, he still retains some remarkable powers. He is nearly indestructible, and as described by Dr. Jookiba Bulletproof, Shockproof, and fireproof. After landing on earth, 626 is run over by a truck and knocked unconscious. When he was discovered on the road, he was taken to an animal shelter because he was thought to be a breed of dog.

After the escape, the Grand Councilwoman charges Dr. Jumba to work with a Galactic Agent named Pleakley to capture and return Experiment 626. It is now where a young Hawaiian girl named Lilo and her 19-year-old sister Nani Pelekai meet and get involved with the Genetic Experiment. A while back, their parents were killed in an auto accident and Nani hears her sister praying for a friend since Lilo is always bullied in school and does not have any real friends of her own. She agrees to let her adopt a dog, and of course, at the Animal shelter she is attracted to “626”. Even though the “Dog” is strange, Lilo adopts him and names him “Stitch”.

After getting Stitch home, Lilo shows him around the island. One of Stitch’s weaknesses is that his molecular density is so great that he cannot swim, so he realizes that he cannot escape. Because of his genetic programming, Lilo is having a hard time calming down his aggressiveness and destructive nature. She even tries to use Elvis Presley as a role model. At first, Stitch is only using Lilo as a shield to escape detection from the Galactic Federation. But as time goes by, he develops true feeling for her.

On day while surfing at the beach, Lilo, Nani and Stitch are riding on a wave when Jumba makes an attempt to capture Stitch, and it appears that Stitch tried to drown Lilo. Social Worker Cobra Bubbles observes this and wants to take Lilo away from Nani into a foster home. Realizing the trouble he caused, Stitch leaves. This follows with Jumbo chasing Stitch through the woods, firing at him with his gun. When arriving at Lilo’s house the home is destroyed in the fight. Eventually, Lilo finds out the true nature of her “Pet” and Stitch ultimately saves Lilo from Captain Gantu and when the Grand Councilwoman arrives on Earth to arrest Stitch personally, she sees them all hugging and grants Stitch his exile on Earth, realizing that he has become a civilized being. In the end, she orders Cobra a former CIA agent to keep watch on the family. Refusing to take Jumba and Pleakley with her, they have become part of the Pelekai family.
