Disney has announced the winners of its global #GoRogue UGC contest, which celebrated Star Wars fan content, creativity and storytelling in the run up to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The competition invited fans from around the world to share their own “Rogue Stories” set in a galaxy far, far away…for a chance to win a trip to Lucasfilm in San Francisco and see their videos premiered on the big screen.

The seven winners from Australia/New Zealand, Germany, Mexico, South East Asia and the U.S./Canada were selected based on their quality of storytelling, character development, originality and overall entertainment value. Led by “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards, the panel of judges also included: Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein, who also voices Ahsoka Tano on “Star Wars Rebels;” and talent from Maker Studios network – YouTube sensations Chris Pirillo, and Evan from “EvanTube.”

Gareth Edwards, director of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”: “I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Star Wars fans ‘go rogue’ in all of these videos. Each entry had such a strong mix of production value, filmmaking and comedy, with the most successful entries being those with humor.”

Ashley Eckstein, voice of Ahsoka Tano in “Star Wars: Rebels” animated TV series and owner of fashion company Her Universe: “The entries showed so much creativity – I really felt like the teenager and kid entries especially captured the essence of Star Wars. I also enjoyed watching the credits and seeing how families got together to make their stories.Star Wars is for the entire family and many of these videos embodied that!”
