As the vibrant month of April rolls in, Shanghai Disney Resort is all set to celebrate Earth Month 2024 with a series of engaging and educational activities that promise to enchant visitors and instill a deep appreciation for nature. The festivities kick off with the lovable “ourHOME” Nature Conservation Forum on Earth Day, April 22nd, ensuring a delightful and thought-provoking experience for attendees.

Guests visiting during Earth Month will be treated to breathtaking landscapes, meticulously crafted by the Shanghai Disney Resort Horticulture team. Adding a touch of star power, the resort has introduced a celebrity-narrated Spring Flower Guide, showcasing 36 stunning flower varieties. Narrators include renowned figures such as actress Pan Hong, actor Chen Long, singer and actress Wang Ju, and TV host Zhou Jin. This guide, available in Mandarin, English, and Shanghai dialect, provides an immersive and educational flower exploration experience.

Disney’s tradition of promoting nature conservation is highlighted with this month-long celebration, reflecting the company’s commitment through initiatives dubbed Disney Planet Possible. These endeavors aim to promote eco-friendly practices and inspire visitors to contribute to a sustainable future.

A focal point of the celebrations is the “ourHOME” Nature Conservation Forum on April 22nd. This event will feature non-profit organizations, volunteers, and resort representatives discussing various aspects of nature conservation. Special guest Xi Zhinong, a National Geographic Explorer and wildlife photographer, will share captivating stories about documenting the splendor of wildlife, aiming to raise awareness and encourage active conservation efforts.

Continuing a cherished annual tradition, Disney VoluntEARs will participate in a cleanup project at Dongtan, a tidal flat in Shanghai’s Chongming Island, collecting trash and debris to help restore the natural habitat. Additionally, from April 19th to 22nd, the “Celebrate Earth – Earth Month Fair” will take place in Disneytown, featuring environmental activities and collaborations with non-profit organizations, supported by dedicated Disney VoluntEARS.

For the cast and local community members, a range of nature-themed activities, such as the Disney Reading Together program, are in store, promoting environmental consciousness and engagement.
