A guest recently shared an unsettling experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, describing how she felt “violated” after visiting one of the park’s iconic attractions. Enjoying a day full of family-friendly adventures in the lush and diverse sections of the park—such as the breathtaking Pandora – The World of Avatar, the thrilling Expedition Everest, and the delightful DinoLand U.S.A—should be a magical time. Instead, the TikTok user @bethanyvinton recounted her first encounter with It’s Tough to be a Bug! that left her feeling very uncomfortable.

Bethany’s video on TikTok described her anticipation and subsequent disappointment after the show. The attraction, inspired by Pixar’s delightful A Bug’s Life, incorporates 3D and 4D effects that bring the world of bugs to life in a way that can sometimes be startling. Despite its fun intentions, the effects made Bethany feel inappropriately touched—a far cry from the joyful experience Disney aims to provide. She described the sensations as the bugs “touching her in places they shouldn’t.”

The planned sunset over It’s Tough to be a Bug! may be sooner than some fans expected. Disney has announced a potential closure of the attraction, hinting at a reimagining that might introduce a Zootopia-themed experience to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. As Disney continues to evolve, this retooling would align with their commitment to innovation and guest satisfaction.

Moreover, the transformation doesn’t stop there. The beloved yet somewhat weathered DinoLand U.S.A. is also set for a makeover with an exciting new theme. Visitors can look forward to an area inspired by the “tropical Americas,” featuring new attractions based on Disney’s animated hit Encanto and the thrilling adventures of Indiana Jones.

As with any change, there’s a mix of excitement and nostalgia. Many fans are already lamenting the end of DinoLand U.S.A., fearing that it marks a move away from Animal Kingdom’s original vision. Yet, these updates signify Disney’s constant drive to refresh and offer novel experiences.
