Over 40 deserving youngsters were joined by some famous friends for a Disney day out as they jetted off from London City Airport with British Airways.

Singers and television presenters Marvin and Rochelle Humes, original TOWIE cast members Mark and Jessica Wright and television presenter Stacey Solomon joined kids from three London charities for the magical outing to Disneyland Paris.

It is the third time British Airways and Disneyland Paris have teamed up to organise the day trip direct from the Docklands and this year it was children from Carers Trust, Body and Soul and Royal Docks Learning & Activity Centre who joined the fun.

They flew to Paris on the private flight for the day in Disneyland Paris where they will have a personal meet and greet with some of the characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, enjoy lunch with the stars then spend the afternoon on the attractions before flying home tonight.

The trip is part of British Airways’ celebrations as the airline reaches a landmark £12 million raised for Flying Start, its global charity partnership with Comic Relief. The money raised has helped Comic Relief fund projects in the UK and around the world, including Carers Trust and Body and Soul.

Royal Docks Learning & Activity Centre was chosen by London City Airport, one of the local charities they support, and is a local community based project close to the airport.

Community outreach and charitable giving has been a priority activity for Disneyland Paris since the resort opened in 1992.  Disney magic is shared through the Disney VoluntEARS programme, whereby employees donate their time and talents to others through outreach events. In total, 1,158 Disney VoluntEARS gave over 15,700 hours to community service in 2015. The same year, Disneyland Paris offered its support to more than 300 different European associations, with over 1,000 community outreach events organised and supported every year including onsite day events, wishes granted to children, and visits to medical centers.

Mary Barry, British Airways’ community investment manager, said: “Once again this great partnership between ourselves and Disneyland Paris will create lifetime memories for these very deserving youngsters.  We are so grateful to all the celebrities who have given their time to come along and make the day even more special.”
