Shanghai Disney Resort is soaring to new heights with the recent debut of the Disney•Zootopia Express, the latest addition to China Eastern Airlines’ fleet of Disney-themed aircraft. This exciting reveal took place on Friday, marking the sixth collaboration between the airline and the beloved Disney brand, each one more enchanting than the last.
Joe Schott, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, shared his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to join China Eastern Airlines in celebrating the opening of the world’s first and only Zootopia-themed land by launching Disney•Zootopia Express. The new themed plane will be an extra touch of magic to passengers’ travels as it brings guests to visit Shanghai Disney Resort and experience the wonders of our newest land firsthand.”
What sets the Disney•Zootopia Express apart is its striking exterior, featuring three-dimensional images of cherished Disney characters, a first for China Eastern Airlines. Passengers will be treated to a visual feast both inside and outside the aircraft. Inside, the magic continues with themed elements such as luggage containers sized for different mammals and fold-out trays that map out Zootopia, highlighting favorite spots of the city’s iconic animal inhabitants.
The celebration extends beyond the plane itself. According to Wan Qingchao, executive vice president of China Eastern Airlines Co. Ltd., “This year marks the eighth year of collaboration between China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Disney Resort. All of these aircraft transport happiness, friendship, kindness, and trust in the sky, bringing a wonderful travel experience to passengers.”
The enchantment begins before even boarding, thanks to over 30 new Zootopia-themed check-in counters and self-service kiosks at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Passengers will also receive commemorative boarding passes to kickstart their magical journey.
